Nuclear Neighbors BETA Controls and Interactions

Use Roblox defaults and on-screen prompts in the bunker. This page will not invent a fake key list.

Last updated:

Nuclear Neighbors BETA runs on Roblox, so movement starts with the platform, not with a custom shooter overlay. Building Adventure’s public BETA will show you prompts when a door, stash, shower, toilet, fridge, cryo pod, or wheel can be used. This page tells you how to think about those prompts. It will not publish a fabricated bind table. If a thumbnail says “press F to cryo,” that is fan fiction until the experience prints it on your screen.

You can play on keyboard and mouse, a gamepad, or touch. Servers still hold 20 players, so a control mistake is often a social mistake too: you whiff an interact while someone else takes the last can.

Roblox defaults

Use the defaults Roblox already taught you:

  • Move with WASD on keyboard, the left stick on a gamepad, or the on-screen thumbstick on mobile.
  • Look with the mouse or the right stick. On mobile, drag the camera as you usually do in Roblox.
  • Jump with Space or the gamepad jump face button, if the experience allows a jump in that room.
  • Sprint only if Roblox or the experience enables it — often Left Shift on keyboard — and only after you see that it actually changes speed. Do not assume a stamina bar we have not confirmed.
  • Camera modes such as shift-lock exist in Roblox settings. They are optional. Use them if they help you watch a hallway; turn them off if they make bunker rooms feel like a skating rink.

Open the Roblox menu (Esc on keyboard, the platform menu on console, the Roblox button on mobile) to rebind, invert look, or change graphics. If a prompt and your keyboard disagree, the prompt wins for Nuclear Neighbors BETA actions, and the Roblox menu wins for camera and movement.

Looking for prompts

Bunker interactions are contextual. Walk up to the object. Wait for the on-screen prompt. Activate it with whatever the prompt names — click, tap, or the key/button it displays. That is the entire interact model this wiki will stand behind.

If no prompt appears:

  1. Step closer and center the camera on the object.
  2. Check that another player is not already using it.
  3. Look away and look back; the public BETA can drop a billboard.
  4. Try a different object you already know works (stash, door) to see if input died.
  5. Rejoin only after you have stashed what you can. Do not treat a missing prompt as a hidden ending.

Read Getting Started so you know which objects are worth touching on day 1: stash, food, shower, door. Save experimental clicks for throwaway runs.

Bunker interactions

These stations are confirmed by badges and by the official loop — you live in a bunker on scavenged loot — not by a leaked floor plan:

  • Stash / loot — put scavenged food away. If the prompt says store, store. Do not drop cans in a doorway.
  • Shower — hygiene. Skip only if you are hunting Stinky (20 days without showering). See How to Survive.
  • Toilet — a real fixture and a jumpscare hook. Use it, then leave. Details on Encounters.
  • Mysterious fridge — a gamble that can pay beans or escalate. Follow the prompt; do not mash.
  • Cryo pod — upgrades toward Cryo Chad and is the day-skip device Time thief implies. Interact only when the prompt is up so you do not waste a night.
  • Wheel — spin for a reward. Still more real than promo codes.

Outside, house doors and loot piles use the same prompt rule. The neighborhood map describes houses, bunker, and wasteland without inventing street names. You do not need a unique “loot key.” You need to be close enough for the billboard.

Camera and movement tips

Jumpscares and grabs are camera attacks. Before you hunt Hatman or poke Skeleto, make sure look sensitivity is not so high that a scare spins you into a wall. Lower graphics if the BETA stutters in a full 20-player lobby; a frozen interact is a wipe.

Do not crouch-spam or emote-cancel unless an on-screen hint says that is a mechanic. We have no badge that implies a stealth button. Walking away is still the best control vs police rats and a multiplying skeleton.

If you use a gamepad, keep interact on a button you can hit without dropping the stick. If you use touch, do not cover the prompt with your loot thumb. Simple, and it saves more runs than a fake hotkey overlay.

Mobile, console, and shared servers

Nuclear Neighbors BETA is Roblox-only. There is no separate PC build with extra binds, and there is no local-only couch mode. Friends join the same online 20-player server. Call out who is using the shower or the cryo pod so two people do not fight the same prompt.

Accessibility lives in Roblox settings: volume, camera, shift-lock, graphics. The wiki will not invent a colorblind command or a “press P for pause.” Pause is leaving the experience or using Roblox’s own menu.

When a patch changes a prompt label, believe the new label. Check the updates hub if an interact you used yesterday vanished. Rank whether a fight is even worth a button press on the tier list. Ending hunts on Endings still use the same interact model; there is no secret key for Alien Saviors.

Learn two habits and you have the control scheme: move with Roblox defaults, and never activate a bunker object until the experience names the button. Everything else is the loot loop, the day count, and the neighbors trying to break both.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Nuclear Neighbors BETA players.

What are the movement keys in Nuclear Neighbors BETA?

Roblox defaults: WASD or the left stick to move, mouse or right stick to look, Space or the jump button to jump if the room allows it. This wiki will not invent extra binds.

What button uses the shower, fridge, or cryo pod?

Whatever the on-screen prompt shows. Walk up, wait for the billboard, then click, tap, or press that control. If there is no prompt, you are not in range or the BETA dropped the UI.

Can I rebind controls?

Use the Roblox settings menu for camera and movement. Experience actions stay on the prompt. Do not install a third-party overlay and call it official.

Does mobile use different interactions?

Same objects, touch prompts instead of keys. Keep your thumb off the billboard. The Getting Started loop does not change on a phone.

Is there a stealth or dedicated attack key?

None is confirmed. Walk away from rats, Hatman, and Skeleto unless a prompt starts a real action. Rank threats on the tier list.

Will a code unlock better controls?

No official codes are confirmed, and none would replace Roblox movement. See the codes hub.
